Verse 1:
Usually time is on my side
and working for my good.
When pain comes along I call out her name
to sing at double the norm.
As I quiet my soul to hear her sing on
my heart takes over the beat.
Look down to find that this is the day
her hands fell from her face.

Verse 2:
Am I alive? Is this a dream?
Or have I wound up in hell?
I normally bicker and moan at the sound
of her constant nagging drone.
But I desperately long to hear her sing
that same old beat down tune.
At least it’d remind me that I’m still alive
and offer a glimpse of hope.

She’s a reminder of better times
and better time to be had.
As long as she sings I know the pain
will slowly be drifting away.
She offers me comfort and peace of mind
